Mikumi Tour Ecosystem

Mikumi ecosystem
Being that, Mikumi National park is part of the mikumi-selous ecosystem, it is noed the largest ecosystem the whole of Africa has. In the shadows of Mikumi National Park further South, is the Udzungwa National Park and the Uluguru montians in the distance. The combination and the adjacency of the ecosystems and national park lead to an awesome array of wild life, birdlife as well as plant life wich can be experienced.

Mikumi National park Ecosystem, Vegetation Landscape and Terrain
Mikumi National park is made up of two main sections which are divided by the main road; these are the South-East section and the North West section. The North-West section of Mikumi National Park has got safari tracks and Mkata flood plains which help the ecosystem as it creates pools of water an hence a sustainable environment for the plants and wildlife. This fact therefore, makes most of the guests undertake their wildlife and birdlife spotting expeditions form this area. This section has vegetation that includes sausage, baobab, mixed grassland with acacia, tamarind plus a few small palm trees. The majestic view of the rubaho and Uluguru Mountains which are part of the pre-Cambrian rocks formed over 600 million years ago can be spotted if you further the game drive into the park or stay at the foxes tented camp. Because of the under developed infrastructure in the South East that makes guests who stay at Vuma hills tented camp, experience the rugged and wilderness experience from a geological and vegetation perspective, the South-East section of Mikumi national park qualifies not to be conducive to the safari experience.

Being that the dried up vegetation and brown soil creates a superb hue during sunrises an sunsets, visiting Mikumi National Park during the dry season makes safari experience much easier
