Wildlife at lake Manyara is not limited to bird life only but rather many game animals are include for example Impala, Elephant, Buffalo, hippo, Giraffe and so many smaller animals are sheltered by the park. Nestling at the base of the Great Rift valley escarpment, the park is noted for its incredible beauty.
Lake Manyara National park which contains the most pachyderms per km sq in Tanzania is also recognized for its tree-climbing lions which spend most of the day spread out along the branches of acacia trees six to seven metres above the ground. As visitors enter the gate, the pass into the lush forest, home to troops of baboons and blue monkeys, while Buffalo and hippo make sudden, unsteady movements in the adjacent Hippo pool. The vegetation in the end merges into flat topped a cacia woodland where entire prides of lions can be seen streeted on the branches of these trees especially during the heat of the day-Generally, the Manyara lions are well known for this habit.
A part from these tree- climbing lions, there are also the usual browsers and grazers and grazers and the curios-looking banded mongoose. The slightly alkaline lake which shelter a number of water birds, is believed to dominate two third of the park.
Bird life
Lake Manyara National park has got or variety of bird species; in fact more than 400 species are noted to exist in this area. These include; sacred ibis, red billed quelea, as well as cormorants.
